Day 28: Travel to Buwuni

Dec 7th Thursday.
We traveled to Buwuni via a rented car. Taxi (large van) is usually cheaper but with sound equipment and all my luggage it was about the same price and less hassle. Going through Kampala, we hit rush hour traffic so it took us 2 hours to just get through the city. After about 4 hours we passed through Jinja. Jinja is a popular tourist destination for being the head of the Nile River. (See photos)

After another hour and a half we arrived at Pastor Margaret's house which is where I would be staying during my time in Buwuni. We stopped in Bugiri, the town before Buwuni, to visit Pastor Margaret who was currently in the hospital with Typhoid fever. Pastor Margaret and Pastor Robert are Joshua and Caleb's parents. They pastor two different churches, one in Buhobe and one in Buwuni. Their family welcomed me in and provided me with my own room. That's no small sacrifice as their house has 4 bedrooms and between 15 to 25 people who stay there. Living with extended family is common here, even married children and their children.
